Tattoo Removal Consultation
Prices vary from as little as £20 per treatment for a small black tattoo...
Tattoos have become a very popular way of permanently modifying our appearance however as time passes our lives change and this can lead to regretting what once seemed like a good idea. Whether it's a change in relationships, a new career path or even just a bad tattoo, what seemed like a good idea at the time can cause problems, even depression and psychological distress later in life.
NU:YU Tattoo Removal is focused on laser tattoo removal services. We are
professionals and perform laser removal procedures using a state of the art Q-Switched Nd: YAG Tattoo Removal Laser Machine.
During the consultation, which should take no more than 30 minutes we will evaluate the tattoo, any questions you may have will be answered, and the medical risks and benefits of the laser tattoo removal procedure will be thoroughly explained to you.
We will also set a price per treatment and will estimate an approximate number of treatments necessary, based on the tattoo and any individual health concerns.
With agreement from yourself, we will then perform a patch test on the tattoo. This is to check both the level of energy required to successfully remove your tattoo but also to check that you have no adverse reactions to the laser.
Decorative tattoos have a history dating back at least 5000 years. The desire to remove them has probably existed just as long.
Tattoos are made up of inks or pigments, which are injected under the skin to form a picture. Over time, the body surrounds these particles with a protective wall of collagen - a natural protein in the skin - sealing the particles permanently into position.
Early attempts to remove tattoos have had less than desirable results. The advent of lasers has permitted the removal of most tattoo inks with a very low risk of scarring. The laser can significantly lighten or remove many tattoo inks and is particularly advanced in the removal of blue, black and red inks.
A laser removes tattoo ink with the energy of light. Just as natural sunlight is made up of light wavelengths of many colours, a laser is a device which is designed to produce one or more specific wavelengths of light. These wavelengths are either absorbed, reflected or simply passed through objects. Tattoo ink is removed by using a specific wavelength which passes through the skin but is absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to destruct, where it is then removed by the body's natural filtering systems.
